Where do you photograph?
I have an in-home studio,
which I use primarily for pregnancy photos, and (when the weather is questionable)
for family groups. I prefer to photograph children in a natural environment
where kids can really be themselves, but will schedule a studio session
for your child if that is your preference.
What is the best time
to schedule my session?
That largely depends on
what is the best time for you child. If photographing outdoors, the
light is softer in the early morning and late afternoon, which usually
results in better photographs. I am very flexible and will gladly
work around you and your child’s schedule.
How long does each session
last?
This, too, largely depends
upon your child. A typical photo session lasts between 45 to 75 minutes.
During this time I continuously photograph your child being a child or
having quality interaction with mom, dad, siblings, friends or pets.
Is there an extra charge
for siblings?
No. There is no extra
charge for sibling, friends, cousins, grandparents or anyone else with
whom you want to share you session time.
How many photographs do
you take during a session?
This largely depends upon
the child or children being photographed. In an hour-long session, I typically
take 80-125 photographs.
What should my child wear?
Keep it simple. Stay
away from large patterns and stripes that draw attention away from you
child’s face. I recommend something comfortable, classic and appropriate
for the weather conditions. Feel free to bring a change of clothes.
What goes on during the photo session is entirely up to you and your child.
Do you photograph in color
or black and white?
All photographs are taken
in color and can easily be printed in black and white when ordering enlargements.
I have a personal preference for the timeless quality of black and white
photographs. However, there are some photographs that have really
beautiful elements of color and are stunning in their own right.
It really depends upon individual preference.
What kind of equipment
do you use?
I photograph with a Canon
10D digital single lens reflex camera with a 35-210mm lens.
All proofs (4" x 6" images)
are printed in a commercial lab. Final enlargements are printed on
professional archival paper.
How far in advance should
I book my photo session?
I am flexible, but recommend
booking a couple of weeks in advance. If scheduling a weekend photo
session, I recommend booking two to four weeks in advance.
